Authorship Criteria

BHPJ follows the authorship recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).

To qualify for authorship, individuals must satisfy all four criteria:

  1. Substantial contribution to the conception, design, acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of research data.

  2. Drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.

  3. Final approval of the version to be published.

  4. Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work.

Every listed author must have made a genuine intellectual contribution. Guest, gift, ghost, and coerced authorship are prohibited.

The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the journal and ensuring that all authors approve the submitted and final manuscripts.

Changes to authorship require a valid explanation and written agreement from the authors concerned.

Artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors. Human authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of submitted manuscripts.
